Description
This document is designed to capture the naming convention of new functions (pages and reports) which are to be created within the COINS Support Team. This is not a document designed to highlight the process of creating the new functions.
Please note, the data set definition, the report designer, the page designer and the function maintenance entries must all be identical in order to link together as required.
Naming Convention
Example function ID > VITGL001
"VIT" - Vistry IT – this is the same for all functions.
"GL" - module abbreviation for which the function belongs to – e.g General Ledger
"001" –numerical figure to allow for 999 functions per module this will increase sequentially with each new function.
Additional extensions of the core function:
"A" - Add function for the page – e.g VITGL001A
"B" - Bulk function – e.g VITGL001B
"U" - Update function – e.g VITGL001U
"X" - Export function – e.g VITGL001X
"L" - Actions drop down – e.g VITGL001L
"L1" - Action option 1 – e.g VITGL001L1
"L2" - Action option 2 – e.g VITGL001L2
......increase as required.
"T1" - Tab 1 – e.g VITGL001T1
"T2" - Tab 2 – e.g VITGL001T2
......increase as required.
"CT1" - Click through 1 (click through on a page) – e.g VITGL001CT1
"CT2" - Click through 2 (click through on a page) – e.g VITGL001CT2
......increase as required.
"M1" - Menu 1 (menu on a page or click through page as above) - e.g VITSY009CT2M1
"M2" - Menu 2 (menu on a page or click through page as above) - e.g VITSY009CT2M2
......increase as required.
"F1" - Menu Function 1 (extension of above) - e.g VITSY009CT2M1F1
"F2" - Menu Function 1 (extension of above) - e.g VITSY009CT2M1F2
