COINS – How to Import Dataset or Report and Page Definitions.

When reports and/or pages are created in non-live environments they are subsequently exported as Dataset Definitions and Report & Page Definitions in order to import the changes into the Live environment following testing.

 


Process

 

Pre-Requisites: 

On the request you should have received the data to import. 

This will either be in the form of a Dataset or Report & Page Definition, or both.

Test in the Copy of Live environment first to make sure your import is successful.

 

  

 

Open COINS and choose KCO 190. 

In the menu find the following location or search for “Import Dataset Definitions” 

OA Reporting & BI  -->   Designer  -->  Import Data Set Definitions

If the data is in a text file (.txt) please download this and open the file via Notepad. Select and copy all the data, this usually ends with a full stop. (take care to ensure you have all of the data available)

 

Once copied, paste back into COINS in the box highlighted below:

Then click the Save icon.

Once saved, you may see a warning pop up to say that the data set definition(s) already exist(s). Just press OK on the message. 

The reason for this is because you are overwriting data that already exists in COINS.

Importing Report & Page Definitions: 


Open COINS and choose KCO 190. 

In the menu find the following location or search for “Import Report & Page Definitions” 

OA Reporting & BI  -->  Designer  --> Import Report & Page Definitions
