Description
This TI is aimed to provide more detail on the differences between the Standard buyer’s page, and the Buyers (IT) version of the page and how you can use the IT version of the buyer page more effectively.
Process
You will find the Buyers (IT) page in your Desktop Tiles:
The main differences between the Standard and the IT Buyers page, is that the IT version is Global. This means that you can view and update buyer records for all KCOs. Whereas with the Standard version of the page you can only view and amend buyer records that exist in the KCO you are currently in.
This means if a user has a buyer record in multiple KCO’s, this will need to be setup and managed individually for each KCO, using the standard page. With the IT page you can view and amend them for all KCOs, no matter which KCO you are currently in.
The Buyers (IT) page looks very similar to the standard “Buyers” page, with some differences such as you have an additional field which displays the KCO, and several different filters at the bottom of the page. Which allow you to sort and breakdown which KCOs you need to view.
Also, if you click on the username on the Buyers IT page, it will take you back through to the User record on the User Workbench.
Buyers (IT) Page:
Standard Buyers Page:
In the IT Version of the page, when you search for a user it will return a record for every KCO where the user has a buyer record created. It will display the name of the user, and the KCO that the buyer record belongs to, on the left hand side.
This allows you to amend all the KCOs at the same time, either by using the “Multi” button or by Bulk Opening and amending them in Excel, and then copying and pasting the data back into re-import it.
To use the “Multi Update” option, if you select all of the records you want to update, and then click the “Multi Update” option, it will allow you to update all the selected records at the same time.
Notes
- If you are trying to create a buyer record for a user in a specific KCO, and you are getting an error message; please make sure the buyer record does not already exist in the KCO that you are currently in, and the KCO you are trying to create the buyer record in. It will not allow you to create a buyer record that already exists.
